Senior classes tested to the limit
The 2013 Yamaha AORC Championship features E1, E2, E3, women, veterans, and masters. Ashley Sprenger, the promoter of round four, had another day full of energy taking test and trials in mind for the Senior classes.
Toby Price set a pace that none could follow. With a time of 37:00.891, Price went over the finish line first. A further 2:41 minutes back to Stefan Granquist for second and AJ Roberts stepped up on the podium in third for the Activate Yamaha team.
Chris Hollis finished two minutes after Price in the outright, but finished first in the E2 class. Other E2 rider, Matt Phillips, took his first 2013 Yamaha AORC podium place by reving it up when it mattered, and finished second. Lachlan Stanford fought through the pain of the rocky test and grabbed a third place.
Husqvarna's Glenn Kearney, managed to hold out young gun Daniel Milner (37:57.929) by only 6 seconds in the E1 class to take the top step on the podium. Yamaha rider, Tom McCormack, managed to hold down third position on what was a very tough days racing.
Damian Smith (39:41.360) managed to sneak a five second lead in the Vet's class over Queensland rider, Kirk Hutton to take the win, leaving Craig Wease to take another third place podium win.
In the Master class, Ian Jenner, lead the pack for six out of the eight tests to take first place from Mark Cockerill in second. MX1 Australia's, Trent Lean, managed to get a third place podium finish.
Jessica Gardiner (45:24.632) took the win for the first time within the 2013 Yamaha AORC Championship with her Sherco 300 IR , closely followed by Emelie Karlsson in second. Sophie Coldicutt also managed to get her first podium win and grabbed the third place.

The AORC is an annual epic battle, bringing hundreds of Enduro riders and their bikes face-to-face with the best and worst of the tough Aussie elements to race against the conditions and the clock.
