Revised line-up for Australia v Great Britain Speedway Test match

Team Australia will go into tonight’s Speedway Test match against Great Britain with a revised rider-line up, with Victorian rider Ty Proctor stepping up to replace Chris Holder.

Team Manager Mark Lemon has confirmed that Holder, who suffered a rib injury at the last round of the 2012 FIM Speedway Grand Prix, will take a rest before the next round at Terenzano in Italy on 11 August.

Proctor will complete the seven-strong Australian side for tonight’s Test match, joining with teammates Darcy Ward (QLD), Cameron Woodward (VIC), Troy Batchelor (SA), Rory Schlein (SA), Davey Watt (QLD) and Jason Doyle (NSW).

Davey Watt will serve as the Team Australia Captain for what is shaping up to be a passionately competitive clash between the two nations.

Lemon is confident that the revised Australian line-up will bring the challenge to Team Great Britain tonight: “We still have a very healthy team, and are very hopeful of retrieving the Ashes from our oldest rivals.”

The Test Match takes place at 7:30 pm tonight, Wednesday 1 August, at Poole Stadium in Dorset, England.

Team Australia: Darcy Ward, Cameron Woodward, Troy Batchelor, Davey Watt (Captain), Jason Doyle, Cameron Woodward, Ty Proctor.
