MOTORSAFE INFO NIGHT NEXT WEDNESDAY

IN 2012 Motorcycling Victoria's MotorSafe Program will be out in force - working for clubs - by presenting the program to thousands of school students across the state, along with the goal to grow your club.

The MotorSafe Program not only educates children on motorcycle safety but also provides parents and students an understanding of the incredible benefits of being involved with a motorcycle club.

This year the focus of the MotorSafe Program has shifted towards MV's affiliated-clubs. In previous years, schools and students have been easily accessible to MotorSafe, but the club aspect of the program has been lacking. With MV's new MotorSafe Officer joining the team, Ms Misty Walton, more than seven clubs have already committed to the MotorSafe Program, by fostering closer working relationships, and the future is looking bright.

As plans are now building towards greater club involvement in 2013, MV would like to invite club delegates to our office in Port Melbourne for a MotorSafe Program Information Night on Wednesday, August 1 at 7.30pm.

The night will present a great chance to meet the new MotorSafe team, including the two new MotorSafe Presenters, as well as to discuss ideas about the program, highlight the program's benefits and the great opportunities on offer for your club, such as gaining new members, as direct result of being involved in the MotorSafe Program.

The two new MotorSafe Presenters, Darren Pay and Anthony Wolfe, and the MotorSafe Officer Misty Walton, will be there to answer questions, provide information and show clubs a short presentation on the newly-redeveloped MotorSafe Program.

On the night we will be also offering dates for clubs to be hosting Mini Licence Sessions for next year, and it is strongly suggested that prior to the night you discuss possible dates with committee members to ensure that you do not miss out on this great opportunity!

Some drinks and nibbles will also be provided on the night.

If you or any other member of your club would be interested in attending, please email Misty Walton at motorsafe@motorcyclingvic.com.au to confirm your attendance.

ELITE ATHLETE TRAVEL GRANT

THE Elite Athlete Travel Grants Program closes on August 15.

Applications are now being accepted at any time before an athlete travels.  All applications will then be batched together at the next closing date and assessed competitively.

All eligible applications are prioritised on the basis of rankings provided by State Sporting Associations, and the type of event that the athlete is seeking funding to travel to.

A survey we conducted in June this year has
helped to establish a priority for events as follows:

      1. Open Age World Championship

      2. Junior World Championship

      3. Open Age National Championship
          Open Age International Event

(can be within Australia or overseas)

      4. Junior National Championship
Junior International Event (can be within Australia
          or overseas)

      5. Masters World Championship
          Masters National Championship
Masters International Event (can be within Australia
          or overseas)

Eligible applicants that were unsuccessful in the previous round are able to reapply for upcoming events.

These case studies will highlight the best practices for a number of club activities in an effort to make Victorian clubs even better.

MV's second Club Case Study is on how to successfully upsell Annual Recreational Licenses for your club.
