Australia set for Speedway Test match showdown with Great Britain

Team Australia will go head-to-head with old rivals Great Britain at a Test Match at Poole Stadium tomorrow, Wednesday 1 August.

Australia, who clinched the silver medal at the 2012 FIM Speedway World Cup earlier this month, will put forward a sizzling seven-man line-up for the Wimborne Road clash.

Rory Schlein (SA), Darcy Ward (QLD), Troy Batchelor (SA), Davey Watt (QLD), Jason Doyle (NSW) and Cameron Woodward (VIC) have all been selected for the side, with Chris Holder (NSW) installed as Captain.

The action at Poole Stadium will be explosive, with long standing rivalries running hot between the two teams ahead of the fiercely competitive Ashes match.

Having gone down 2-0 to Great Britain in a similar two-match Series at Poole and Lakeside last year, Australia will be determined to level the test score.

Great Britain will also come out swinging, seeking to avenge being toppled by the Aussie Team during Event 2 of the 2012 World Cup at Kings Lynn on 9 July.

The Test Match takes place tomorrow Wednesday 1 August at Poole Stadium in Dorset, England.

Team Australia: Chris Holder, Rory Schlein, Darcy Ward, Troy Batchelor, Davey Watt, Jason Doyle, Cameron Woodward

-Ends-
