2012 Australian Women’s MX Championship set for Albury/Wodonga

 

Motorcycling Australia (MA) is pleased to announce that the 2012 Australian Women’s Motocross Championship will be held in Albury/Wodonga from 20-21 October.

The Championship will deliver two-days of action-packed motocross competition, with some of Australia’s top female riders set to vie for the prestigious national title.

In an expansion on previous years, the 2012 Championship will test the riders with a challenging program of five 20-minute motos.

Event promoter Fiona Collins is excited to see the calibre of competition at this year’s Championship

"Women’s motocross is going from strength to strength in Australia, and we can expect to see more girls in the Championship class this year,” Collins said.

“The competition is shaping up to be really promising, with a number of our junior riders moving up into the senior ranks over the past twelve months.

“With riders like Mackenzie Tricker, Tayla Jones, Kristy Gillespie and defending Champion Meghan Rutledge in the mix, there will be plenty of competition for first place.

“The support classes are a great way for female riders to gain some motocross experience, and are the perfect opportunity for riders going to the Australian 4-Day Enduro in Victoria who want to squeeze a last last-minute moto in on the way.”

The Championship will feature a full program of support classes with Junior Girls and Boys, Senior Open and Lites Classes all competing.

Supplementary Regulations and entry details will be released in the coming weeks.
