Moto Rodeo sets sights on Eastern Creek!

South Australian motorcyclists are looking forward to a repeat of the Flood Appeal Moto Rodeo held at Tailem Bend Motorsport Centre on Saturday 5 March.

Following a sun blessed day of non-stop riding, Motorcycling South Australia's (MSA) Sharon Warnest said that the feedback from the day had been entirely positive.

"Everyone was thrilled with the event," Ms Warnest said.

"We can definitely see potential for a repeat of the Rodeo in the not-to-distant future."

The previously un-tried concept, attracted riders to the venue with the promise of a Senior Enduro loop, Minikhana for youngsters and both a bitumen and dirt Gymkhana.

Riders weren't disappointed, but as with the Broadford Moto Rodeo, it was the dirt riders that carried the day with their infectious enthusiasm for two wheeled shenanigans.

This enthusiasm saw riders swapping from their own dirt bikes to the Australian Riders Division CB250 Honda, simply to try as many different games and exercises as possible.

Open to any rider from age seven upwards, little tackers on minibikes also had a ball regardless of whether they were cutting hot laps or taking part in the Minikhana games.

Event Organiser Rob Smith from MA's Australian Riders' Division said that while not as much money was raised as the first Rodeo, the event was still a great success.

"We would have liked to raise more money for the Flood Appeal," Smith said.

"However we think running the event on a Saturday really hurt the attendance.

"With around $1200 raised so far, we're hoping that we can do better in NSW with the event being held on a Sunday."

The small attendance did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of stunt rider Allan Morrisson and his stunning, but steely-nerved partner Tamara, who made the stunt display even more jaw droppingly astonishing with her astounding contribution to the show.

With the Eastern Creek MotoRodeo just two short weeks away on Sunday 27 March, it's hoped that NSW riders will whole heartedly throw their support behind the event to put together a successful finale that raises plenty of money for what has become an ongoing nightmare for many Australians.

Ulyssians making their way home from the AGM in Newcastle are encouraged to drop in and will be most welcome.

The Eastern Creek event will once again have a stunt show laid on, although this time around it will be the turn of local boy Dave Skelton and the Servin'it up crew whose sponsors Sartso Jeans will also be making a donation to the Flood Appeal cause.

Due to the more bitumen focused location, Road Riders, Motard and even MiniMoto riders are encouraged to come and have a go at the Gymkhana as well as the games.

For those worried about using their own machine, once again the Australian Riders' Division Honda CB250 will be available for general use.

Unlike previous events, the cost of riding has been reduced to $25 for the day to try and generate more numbers and spectators will be asked to contribute a gold coin for admission.

Alternatively call (03) 9684 0501 and register to join the riding action at Eastern Creek for just $25.

Remember, there's the Minikhana for kids on Dirt Bikes, spectacular two-wheeled games for Road Riders and Off Roaders, and of course the Moto Gymkhana.

All proceeds go to the Salvation Army who will be helping real people in need around the Nation to rebuild their lives, including those hit by the most recent devastating cyclone in North Queensland.

This is a good will event, so please be generous with your good will.
